• Bots times dominates the free 1
  • Free 2. Another Mercedes double

Cars will not roar on Saturday at the Suzuka circuit, because of Typhoon Hagibis, which could also condition Sunday's plans. For now, the organizers of the Japanese GP decided to move the qualifying session to Sunday, four hours before the start of the race.

The owner of the circuit, Mobilityland, and the Japanese Federation (JAF), canceled all activities in the legendary Japanese track, given the threat of very strong gusts of wind. The classification of Sunday will be held at 10:00 local time (03:00 in peninsular Spain) and the race, at the planned time 14:10 (07:10).

Saturday's third free practice will not recover.

In the event that torrential rains or wind gusts prevent it from disputing the classification, the grid will conform according to the results of the second free practice. The aforementioned session, like the first one, was dominated by Valtteri Bottas, just ahead of Lewis Hamilton, his partner in Mercedes.

Remember that Hagibis has already caused the cancellation of two Rugby World Cup matches: England-France in Yokohama and New Zealand-Italy in Toyota.
