"Our athletes are keen to ensure that all shortcomings on anti-doping issues belong to the past and that Russian athletes can compete on equal terms," says the Russian president.

One year ago, the international anti-doping organization Wada suspended the suspension of Rusada, with the condition that it should be allowed to access the Russian anti-doping organization's test data.

Wada has now found flaws and irregularities in the test data and has started a new investigation into Russian anti-doping.

Rusada boss backed out of statement

The other day, Wada confirmed that they had received answers to the questions asked to the Russian authorities, but could not say when the investigation can be completed. By extension, Russian athletes are at risk of being suspended from the Tokyo Olympics next summer.

According to German Der Spiegel, Rusada chief Yuri Ganus said he believes that thousands of changes have been made to the doping data in Rusada before it was submitted to Wada, which he subsequently denied in a statement on Rusada's website:

"Those who write that Rusada changed in their database are either hard to understand what they are writing about, or are lying. Both reasons are just as awful, ”says Ganus.
