Three decisions taken by Fujairah coach Majid Bouguerra played a part in the team's 2-1 victory over Khorfakkan in the third round of the Arabian Gulf League.
Fujairah and Bougherra have reached the sixth point in three rounds so far, a very distinct result of the "wolves", given the value of the two victories, the first at the expense of a large club is Al Wahda, and the second on Khorfakan's direct rival for survival.
Fujairah had a late lead from the fifth minute, with a goal by Khorfakkan defender Robson de Paula, before returning in the result after two goals scored by Brazilian Fernando Gabriel (34, 90 + 1) to achieve the first victory over Khorfakkan in their first professional match.
The first and most prominent decision was the confidence expressed by Bouguerra with his Brazilian star Fernando Gabriel, where he joined him from the beginning of the game, after replacing him in the first game against Al Wahda, while sitting on the bench in the game with Al-Ahly youth in the second round. Gabriel responded to his coach, having played a key role, scoring both goals.
Bougherra intervened technically, and directed his team to rely on a direct attack method, instead of counter-attacks he had bet on them in the meetings of unity and youth Ahli. This led to Fujairah's offensive intensity, which yielded two goals and missed many opportunities.
On the other hand, the coach gave the opportunity to participate to the player who is more physically and technically ready, and not only relied on foreign professional players. This led to high technical returns from the national players as well, which contributed significantly to the victory. Bougherra played with a starting lineup that included only two foreign players, Gabriel and William Jaipur, and the latter was replaced in the second half, and was replaced by Motasem Yassin.
