Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoy has become one of the world's highest-paid youngsters with a five-year extension to his 57-year contract.

The 18-year-old, who is close to returning to action after recovering from a torn Achilles tendon in April, has extended his five-year contract with Chelsea to remain a defender until 2024.

Earlier, English newspapers revealed that the star's salary would be between 200,000 euros and 228,000 a week. Odoy Hodson was the focus of several European teams, including Bayern Munich, who made several offers for the player, but Chelsea rejected them, although the Bavarians had planned to offer the young player for 228 thousand euros a week.

"I want to win as many trophies and cups as possible, win as many matches and contribute as many goals as possible," Hudson Odoy, who has scored six goals and made seven in 29 games, told Chelsea's official website.

"The way we play is really exciting, we want to keep the ball, and the squad we rely on looks great for me as well."

Chelsea, who lost their first match to Valencia 1-0 in the first round of the Champions League, are currently sixth in the Premier League with eight points, five stages after the start of the competition.
