His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, chaired the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in its new composition, which was held yesterday at the Council headquarters in Abu Dhabi. His Highness welcomed all the new directors.
His Highness recommended the appointment of Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi as Vice Chairman, Dr. Aref Al Hammadi as Chairman of the Audit Committee, and Suwaidan Al Dhaheri as Chairman of the Investment Committee. He also called for continued attention to community sports.
The meeting reviewed the plan of international sporting events hosted by Abu Dhabi for the season 2019-2020, and discussed the developments of the football sector, and directed to give clubs more space to put the appropriate system in terms of administrative and financial structure, commensurate with the nature of activities in each club. The meeting also witnessed the proposal of Abu Dhabi's sports sector budget for 2020.
