The International Federation of Football (FIFA) has agreed to play Iraq in their joint qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Championship in Basra International Stadium (known as the trunk of the palm tree).

Attached to the text of the text read the statement that the approval to play in Basra will be void in the event of deterioration of the security situation in Basra as a condition for continuing to play games at home.

Earlier, FIFA allowed Aswad al-Rafidain to play unofficial matches at home to see if it could host official matches.
