MADRID (Reuters) - Real Madrid and Barcelona took the lead in Europe's most lucrative club last season after Manchester United were knocked out of the summit, according to the Deloitte report published Thursday.

The report included a list of the top 20 clubs to earn profits in the 2017-2018 season. Real Madrid's return to the summit for the first time since the 2014-2015 season saw profits of more than 750 million euros.

The Spanish club's profits have risen by more than 750 million euros after being crowned the Champions League for the third time in a row.

Barca's profit was 690 million euros from 648 million euros a year earlier.

Manchester United, which topped last year's list, fell from 676 million euros to 666 million euros, finishing third.

The top ten did not include any club from Italy, with Juventus in 11th place while Bayern Munich were the only German club on the list.
