The German Nico Hülkenberg (Renault) scored on Thursday the best time of the first four days of practice of the preseason of Formula One, which took place at the Barcelona-Catalonia circuit, when the stopwatch stopped at 1: 17.393. The inaugural week of 'test' was closed with a Renault engine at the top, after the dominance of the times of the Ferrari propeller on Monday and Tuesday, and the victory of a Honda engine on Wednesday, thanks to the return that the Russian Daniil Kvyat at the controls of his Toro Rosso.
The Mercedes , on the other hand, did not manage to be on the podium in any of the four days, given their strategy, focused on measuring the reliability of the car and its response to wear. Even so, this Thursday both the Finn Valtteri Bottas and the English Lewis Hamilton were placed among the five best times, giving 115 laps between them.
The Ferrari team demonstrated throughout the training the willingness to recover ground to Mercedes and got the first two days the best times, in addition to accumulating more than 130 test laps during each session. The new Scuderia driver, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc , left great sensations, both times and sensations.

The British formation accumulated many kilometers to overcome the 400 steps per goal in this first week, in addition to signing, through the Spanish Carlos Sainz on Monday and Lando Norris on Tuesday, the second best time of the day, although with ultra-soft tires.
The novice pilots left their impact on the Montmeló route. The most outstanding of the four debutants - the Italian Antonio Giovinazzi , the Thai of British origin Alex Albon and the British Lando Norris and George Russell - was Albon, who achieved great times, including the best on Wednesday, at the wheel of his Toro Rosso .
Alfa Romeo - old Sauber - left good feelings with the mixture of veteran and youth that his riders contribute: the Finn Kimi Raikkonen and Giovinazzi .
The team worse off in this first week of practice was Williams , who did not take a car to the track until Wednesday and that on Thursday was 3,604 seconds behind the head.
