Cristiano Ronaldo is still missing from the list of players selected for League games against Italy and Poland on 17 and 20 November, Portuguese coach Fernando Santos said Thursday.

The Portuguese coach has confirmed the absence - he had already announced in early October - until the end of the year captain and star striker of Seleçao, targeted by a charge of rape he rejects categorically. Fernando Santos once again refused to explain the reasons.

"As far as Ronaldo is concerned, the only thing I can say is that he deserves to win the Golden Ball, it would be an injustice if he did not win it, that's all that matters now," he said. Fernando Santos told a news conference.

The five-time Golden Ball had already missed both matches in early September. The technician then justified this by the "adaptation process" of the former Madrilenian Juventus Turin.

The list of 25 players selected for the next two matches is marked by the return of several European champions such as José Fonte, Raphael Guerreiro, André Gomes and Joao Mario.
