James Harden helped the Houston Rockets in the NBA with a club record to win the New York Knicks: 110-114. The star player in Madison Square Garden accounted for no less than 61 points.

The 29-year old Harden was also good for fifteen rebounds at the Rockets, which came back from behind in the final phase.

With twenty seconds remaining on the clock, the team from Houston trailed 110-109. Thanks to a three point by Eric Gordon and a dunk from Harden, the visitors still managed to win.

With 61 points, Harden defeated Kobe Bryant, who in 2009 made just as many points on behalf of the Los Angeles Lakers against the Knicks in Madison Square Garden.

Harden has also made at least thirty points in 21 games in a row. Such a long series only knew Wilt Chamberlain in the past three times to put down. The record stands at 65 games in a row, in the season 1961-1962.

The Houston Rockets recovered with the victory over the Knicks of the defeat against the Philadelphia 76ers (121-93). The formation from Texas occupies fifth place in the Western Conference.
