Subaru plant affected by typhoon resumed operation Gunma Oct. 25, 11:43

SUBARRU, which had stopped production of automobiles from the 16th of this month due to the influence of Typhoon No. 19, resumed operations from the 25th. This is because the parts suppliers who were affected by the disaster recovered and the parts could be procured.

Car production resumed both at the main plant and Yajima plant in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, as well as some lines at the Oizumi Plant in Oizumi-machi, Gunma Prefecture, which produces engines.

Subaru has stopped operations at its car production plant from 16th of this month because parts could not be procured due to flooding and other damage caused by the typhoon No.19.

After that, the repair work of the damaged parts manufacturer progressed and parts could be procured again, so the factory resumed operations on the 25th.

The main plant and the Yajima plant are responsible for the production of all SUBARU vehicles in Japan, and it seems that the production stoppage had an effect on the production of about 10,000 units.

In Typhoon No. 19, which was a record torrential rain in a wide range and flooded the river one after another, the factories were inundated and the parts supply network, so-called supply chain, was affected. There is also a movement to consider countermeasures in the event of receiving a call.
