The European official said this following negotiations with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“We discussed the possibilities for starting a dialogue on liberalizing visa relations,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
Borrell called on Yerevan to continue to carry out reforms to achieve progress in introducing a visa-free regime.
Earlier, Armenia and the EU signed an agreement on the status of the observation mission.
Borrell also said that the foreign ministers of the European Union member countries have decided to increase the number of their civilian mission of the association in Armenia by 50%.
