A message distributed by the Foreign Ministry indicates that during these consultations the parties exchanged assessments of the situation in the area under discussion.
“The need to continue close cooperation and active joint efforts was emphasized in order to prevent an arms race in outer space (ARMS) and the weaponization (of weapons. -

) of space,” the message says.
The parties also emphasized the importance of the early launch of negotiations on a mechanism to prevent the placement of weapons in outer space and stated the relevance of the international initiative on not being the first to place weapons in outer space.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin called the United States the main threat in space.
