Israeli demonstrators closed the Kerem Shalom crossing for 4 days and prevented the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip (social networking sites)
Today, Sunday, the Israeli occupation army declared the Kerem Shalom crossing a closed military zone, with dozens of Israelis continuing to demonstrate near the crossing for the fourth day in a row, and preventing trucks loaded with humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip.
Al Jazeera's correspondent said that for the fourth day, dozens of Israeli demonstrators obstructed the entry of humanitarian aid trucks and goods into the Gaza Strip at the Kerem Shalom crossing.
The Israeli Ynet news website reported that among the participants in the protests were members of the families of Israeli soldiers killed in the battles in the Gaza Strip, representatives of the families of prisoners, and reserve soldiers who were recently discharged from the army, in addition to settlers who were evacuated from the settlements on the border with Gaza and Lebanon after the start of the war.
The demonstrators called on the Israeli government to continue fighting and recover Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, instead of bringing in food and medicine.
The demonstrators chanted while they were at the crossing, “No aid will pass until all the kidnapped people return,” referring to Israeli detainees held by the resistance in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a press conference last night that bringing humanitarian aid at a minimum into the Gaza Strip is necessary for Israel to achieve its war goals.
