North Korea's state media reported on the 28th that a delegation led by Sports Minister Kim Il-guk departed from Pyongyang to visit China on the 27th.



The purpose of his visit to China has not been disclosed, but a diplomatic source familiar with China-North Korea relations said it was to discuss sports-related matters.



This year marks 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and North Korea, and President Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong-un exchanged congratulatory telegrams on New Year's Day, marking this year as the ``Year of China-North Korea Friendship'' and holding various events.
