A 59-year-old man was arrested at midday last Friday at the Plaza Castilla courts in Madrid when, during a routine access control, security guards found

a pistol pen, ammunition and a Civil Guard badge

A discovery that occurred at 1:15 p.m. in the morning when, upon observing one of the bags that the individual was carrying

through the metal scanner, the private security personnel found a suspicious cylindrical object

with small screws, indentations and a spring that turned this simple writing instrument into a firearm capable of detonating low-caliber ammunition.

Among his belongings, the security guards also saw a real 22 caliber bullet, a blank bullet of the same caliber and a Civil Guard badge, which

is suspected to have come from a robbery or a forgery
