There were nasty pictures that unfolded when Piteå visited Sundsvall.

Kalle Strömbäck was shot in the back of the head and injured. He will be out of the rink indefinitely.

- It was horrible to see. Kalle is tough, but without the helmet we don't know how it would have gone, says Peter Forsberg.

Think it's the league's responsibility

Both he and Kalle want the league to introduce requirements for medical personnel during the matches.

Today it is a recommendation.

- If there had been money, we would have been responsible for it ourselves. But I think it is the league's responsibility, says Forsberg.

There have been several serious injuries on the ice recently, and Hockeyetta is no exception.

- It goes fast and is a bit more unkempt than in the top leagues. The risk of injury is part of the sport, but it is vital that there is the right help when something happens, says Kalle Strömbäck.

The league manager: "We can't afford it"

League manager Mats Johansson understands the demand. But today, the financial conditions are lacking.

- We can not afford. There are 40 teams in our series and over 800 games are played per season. Ambulance, doctors and medical staff cost money.

Has the care issue been discussed with the clubs?

- Not that I can remember and there is no demand that has been made of us. Today, we have a strong recommendation that there should be healthcare experts at the matches.
