In order for the bank to approve a mortgage, in addition to a cash deposit of at least 15 percent, it is also required that the monthly income pass the bank's credit check.
The industry and member organization Mäklarsamfundet has calculated what salary is required to buy a condominium in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. And according to them, only three out of ten in Sweden have a salary high enough to buy a house in Stockholm.
