Prior to the opening ceremony of the regular Diet session, the Liberal Democratic Party held a general meeting of members of the House of Councilors in the Diet on the morning of the 26th, and Sekiguchi, Chairman of the House of Councilors, announced a new executive committee in response to an incident involving a faction's political funding party.



According to this, Masaji Matsuyama, a member of the Kishida faction and former Minister in charge of Activating the Citizens, was appointed to replace former Secretary-General Seko of the House of Councilors of the Abe faction.



Matsuyama is 65 years old and has been elected to the House of Councilors Fukuoka constituency four times.



He was first elected in the House of Councilors election in 2001, and has held positions such as Chairman of the House of Councilors Diet Measures Committee and Chairman of the Policy Deliberation Committee.



In addition, Junichi Ishii, chairman of the House Steering Committee, of the Motegi faction, was appointed to replace Nogami, chairman of the House of Councilors Diet Measures Committee, of the Abe faction.



Mr. Ishii is 66 years old and has been elected to the House of Councilors Chiba constituency three times.



He was first elected in the 2007 House of Councilors election and has served as the Chairman of the Constitution Review and the Budget Committee of the House of Councilors.
