A forensic psychiatric examination from the Swedish Medical Examiner's Office (RMV) shows that the woman does not suffer from a serious mental disorder and can therefore be sentenced to prison.

The 44-year-old woman is suspected of having attacked her children with knife and strangulation violence.

Both children were under the age of 15.

The daughter died from her injuries.

During the trial in Attunda district court, the woman denied the crime.

- Her attitude is that she denies the crime, that she had no intention of what is alleged and that she also has diffuse memories of the night, says her lawyer Johan Ödlund.

Ödlund has stated in the district court that the woman suffers from a serious mental disorder and wanted to have RMV's statement reviewed by the National Board of Health and Welfare's legal council, but the district court rejected it.

The verdict in the case will be announced next week.
