The Defense News portal writes about this.

"A growing number of lawmakers from both parties are questioning whether President Joe Biden has the legal authority to strike Yemen's Houthis," the post said.

Thus, the publication writes, Senator Tim Kaine, together with three colleagues, sent a letter to the American leader, demanding legal and strategic justification for attacks on the Houthis.

As the senators recalled in the letter, Biden currently does not have permission from the US Congress to conduct military action against the Houthis in the Red Sea or Yemen.

According to the authors of the letter, these actions by Washington already go beyond the scope of self-defense.

Earlier, the US military announced a new strike on Yemen and the destruction of two ballistic missiles in the territories controlled by the Houthis.

Prior to this, the United States hit more than 25 launchers in Yemen.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that the United States and Great Britain made a strategic mistake by striking Yemen.
