“According to investigators, on January 18... in an apartment on Pacific Street, due to a sudden hostile relationship, the accused smothered her 8-month-old daughter, who did not want to sleep, with a pillow,” the department said in a statement.

It is clarified that after committing the crime, the woman went to visit a friend, leaving her little son at home, aged one and nine months, and returning two days later, she told law enforcement officers that she had discovered the body of her daughter, allegedly left in the care of a friend.

After interrogation, she nevertheless confessed to what she had done and fully admitted guilt.

The accused's son is currently with his father.

The girl was charged with committing a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art.

105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder).
