"What started as tonsillitis led to septic shock that infected several of my organs.

I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we were initially told."

This is how Ashley Park (32), one of the actresses from

Emily in Paris

where she plays Mindy Chen, was surprised on her social networks regarding her recent state of health.

After going through three foreign hospitals where she had countless tests done, she was finally diagnosed with tonsillitis.

The North American was enjoying an exotic vacation in the Maldives to celebrate the new year in the company of her boyfriend, Paul Forman (29), her partner in the aforementioned successful series.

In one of her texts on Instagram she dedicated some heartfelt words to him:

"I love you Paul. More than I can ever say"

and added "grateful that you have been unconditionally by my side during all of this. You calmed my fears when we spent a week in the ICU." , countless scans,

His partner and main actress in the series set in the city of light, Lilly Collins (34), wrote him an emotional message on social networks: '

'I can barely watch this without crying.

I love you sister

and I will be forever grateful that you are on the other side of this and to you, Paul Forman, for your incredibly huge heart and for being there every step of the way.

I can't wait to hug you both.''

It so happens that this is not the first serious health problem that Ashley Hart has suffered since when she was 15 years old she battled acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) whose origin is in the bone marrow, in the spongy tissue inside the bones.

At the time of her diagnosis, Park feared that this illness would define her future career and her identity as an artist.

"I never wanted to be just the Asian girl (...)

and then I got to 16 and I was the bald girl and the sick girl," she confessed to Cosmopolitan magazine.

Of Korean origin, the interpreter believes that

Emily in Paris

is helping

Asian representation on the small screen.

Another of her latest great successes is her recurring role in

Just Murders in the Building

, where she shares the screen with Meryl Streep (78), Steve Martin (73) and Martin Short (74).
