Choi Tae-bok, former chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, who served three generations of North Korea's supreme leader since the era of President Kim Il-sung and held important positions in international relations and other positions in the Workers' Party of Korea, has passed away.

He was 93 years old.

North Korea's state television announced on the 21st that Choi Tae-bok, who served as secretary for international affairs of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, which is made up of representatives from various regions, for more than 20 years, has passed away.



Mr. Choi has served three generations of the supreme leader and supported the regime since the days of President Kim Il Sung, the grandfather of Kim Jong Un.



When Kim Jong Il passed away in 2011, he was one of the seven executives who stood by the car carrying the coffin, showing the depth of trust he had in him.



State television reported that in the early hours of the 21st, Kim visited his family and offered his condolences.



In the video released, General Secretary Kim is seen looking at Choi as he is placed in a coffin along with other members of the leadership.



According to North Korean media, Choi died of a myocardial infarction on the 20th.



He was 93 years old.
