More Swedes must do military service, and this means that more and more people are being called up for conscription and conscription training against their will.
In order for the Armed Forces to grow, more women are also needed, but the percentage of women who do military service has decreased.

Among those who do the rags in 2023-2024, the proportion of women is only 19 percent.
In 2022-2023, they were 24 percent.
The goal is for the percentage of women to be 30 percent by 2030.

But at Total Defense's protection center in Umeå, more than half of the conscripts are women.
This is the highest percentage in the country.
- I think we have a more open climate and it is very easy to talk about feelings with everyone, says Ida Lindgren, conscript in Protection C.
The basic education is the same on all units
The basic education itself in Umeå is the same as at all other units in the country.
- I am sure that there are certain prejudices that the education here is perhaps easier and so on.
But it's not, it's exactly the same, says Moa Snitting Olcén, conscript in Protection C.
