Météo France placed Tuesday morning thirty-four departments in the north-east of France in orange snow-ice vigilance and two other departments in the west of the country in orange rain-flood vigilance.

The weather station forecasts in its bulletin published on Tuesday around 6 a.m. an "episode of freezing rain followed by an episode of snow, with generally an intermediate thaw, over the northeastern third of the country", adding that rainfall totals of 30 to 50 mmm in 24 hours are expected over Finistère and Morbihan.
