Closed gates with a padlock that signaled that the rest area is closed. Dog owners were met by this at the dog park in Nacksta on Monday afternoon.

Mitthem, which is responsible for the exercise yard, had then decided to close the yard temporarily because it had been mismanaged by the dog owners who had been staying on the site with their dogs.

"You could call it a sanitary problem," says Camilla Hjältman.

The first time Mitthem is forced to close

She says it's the first time they've been forced to close the exercise yard due to mismanagement.

"It's a shame when it's not taken care of. It starts with someone not picking up after themselves, then someone else continues and then it goes quickly," she says.

She points out that it's up to each dog owner to find out the poop.

"You're there with your dog, you don't leave your dog there and clean up after yourself.

Will not be reopened until a few weeks later

Mitthem will now clean the exercise yard before it reopens, something that may take a couple of weeks.

"It doesn't take precedence over our tenants," says Camilla Hjältman.
