The British military-run maritime observatory UKMTO has reported that a ship was hit on the port side by a missile in the Gulf of Aden, 95 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni city of Aden. According to the U.S. military, there were no casualties and no significant damage. The UKMTO added that authorities are investigating the incident and advising vessels to pass through the Gulf of Aden with caution.

According to the AP news agency, which cites private security companies, the ship hit is a US ship. According to the British security firm Ambrey, three missiles were fired by the Houthi militias, but two of them did not reach the sea.

The incident occurred just a day after the US military repelled a missile fired by the Houthi militias in the Red Sea. The Houthis fired the anti-ship cruise missile on Sunday around 16:45 p.m. local time in the direction of the U.S. destroyer USS "Laboon," the U.S. military's regional command said on Monday night on Platform X, formerly Twitter. The missile was intercepted by the US Navy near the Yemeni coast of al-Hodeidah.

Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas, Iranian-backed Houthi militias have repeatedly attacked ships with alleged Israeli ties in the Red Sea. Large shipping companies are increasingly avoiding the route. Because of the Houthis' actions, the US and Britain recently attacked the group's positions in Yemen, supported by the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and Bahrain.

The attacks by the US and Britain were also confirmed by a spokesman for the Houthi militia. As Abdul Qader al-Mortada wrote on X, formerly Twitter, there have been attacks on various Yemeni cities: "The American-Zionist-British aggression against Yemen has launched several attacks on the capital Sanaa, the governorate of Hodeidah, Saada and Dhamar." "America and Britain will have to be prepared to pay a high price," said a representative of the Houthis, according to the Houthi television channel Al Massirah. Yemen had been "subjected to a massive aggressive attack by American and British ships, submarines and fighter jets," he was quoted as saying.

Iran has called on the U.S. and Britain to "immediately" cease their attacks on the Tehran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen. We warn America and Britain to end the war against Yemen immediately," Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said again at a press conference in Tehran with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
