North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Soni arrived in the capital Moscow and began her official visit to Russia. Amid concerns about the military ties between the two countries, the United States and other countries are expected to meet with Foreign Minister Lavrov on the 16th to confirm further strengthening of cooperation.

According to North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency, a government delegation led by Foreign Minister Choi So-ni arrived in Moscow, the Russian capital, on the 14th and began an official visit.

Foreign Minister Choi will stay in Russia until the 17th, and according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, he is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Lavrov on the 16th.

At the Foreign Ministers' Meeting, there is a possibility that specific cooperation in the fields of the economy, science and technology, and other areas will be coordinated, based on the exchange plan between the two countries' ministries of foreign affairs for the next year, which was concluded in October last year during Foreign Minister Lavrov's visit to North Korea.

In addition, the focus is on whether the two foreign ministers will mention military cooperation amid the United States and other countries wary of military ties between the two countries, as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine is using ballistic missiles provided by North Korea.

At the meeting, there is a possibility that President Putin's visit to North Korea, which Kim Jong-un invited to the summit in September last year, will be discussed, and the two foreign ministers are expected to confirm further strengthening cooperation through the meeting.

Russia "expects Putin's visit"

Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian President's Office, told reporters on the 15th, "North Korea is our neighbor and partner, and we will further develop relations in all fields," and expressed his willingness to strengthen relations with North Korea.

"President Putin has received an invitation to make an official visit to Pyongyang, and I hope that it will take place in the foreseeable future. The timing of the visit will be agreed through diplomatic channels," he said, revealing the possibility that President Putin's visit to North Korea will also be discussed.
