Driving around your car with significant amounts of snow on the roof or with just a small portion of the windshield scraped can lead to a fine or, in the worst case, a suspended driver's license.

"It's not enough to scratch a small gap just to be able to see out. You must have the entire box free. If you can't see well enough, you haven't fulfilled your responsibility as a driver," says Christer Löwenborg.

According to the police, it is crucial that the driver maintains eye contact with other road users they meet. Therefore, it is important that the windscreen is completely free of snow before you start driving.

Reckless driving

Having snow on the roof of the car and not scraping the windows properly can lead to a fine or being convicted of reckless driving.
