The Haikou-Ho Chi Minh City route is operated by Hainan Airlines and operates every Monday and Thursday. According to Meilan Airport, the airport has resumed opening a total of 2023 Southeast Asian routes since 17.
Thanks to the accelerated pace of opening international routes, the number of tourists from Southeast Asia has gradually increased since 2023. According to the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports, from January to November 2023, Malaysian tourists increased by 1,11% year-on-year, Singaporean tourists increased by 1650,1730% year-on-year, and Southeast Asian inbound tourists accounted for about one-third of the inbound tourists in Hainan Province.
