Beijing, January 1 (Reporter Chang Qin) A few days ago, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly issued a notice to announce the list of national natural resources science popularization bases in 6, and 2023 science popularization bases, including the Beijing Groundwater Science Popularization Center, were named national natural resources science popularization bases.

The National Natural Resources Science Base is an important part of the national science popularization base system, and is an important place to display the scientific and technological achievements of natural resources, popularize the knowledge of earth science, spread the concept of ecological civilization, and advocate the establishment of the awareness of resource conservation and harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

According to reports, in 2023, in accordance with the "127th Five-Year Plan for the Popularization of Natural Resources Science and Technology", the Ministry of Natural Resources, together with the Ministry of Science and Technology, will launch a new batch of recommended naming of national natural resources science popularization bases. This is the first time since the establishment of the Ministry of Natural Resources to build a new national science base, the local natural resources departments and subordinate units to declare the enthusiasm of the high, a total of 80 science popularization bases through the formal review. Most of the popular science bases declared this time belong to the original land, ocean, surveying and mapping popular science bases, which generally have a good foundation for construction and have played a leading role in popular science activities and public services. According to the evaluation standards of the National Natural Resources Science Popularization Base, 50 were named this time. Among them, 30 popular science bases, including Beijing Groundwater Science Popularization Center, Zhangjiakou Geological Museum, and Datong Tulin Geopark, have been named as national natural resources science popularization bases. At the same time, <> popular science bases, including the Hebei Provincial Natural Resources Science and Technology Museum, have been named as popular science bases of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

It is understood that the notice proposes that each popular science base should highlight the characteristics of public welfare, openness and demonstration, continuously strengthen the construction of popular science bases, and guide popular science bases to plan and carry out popular science activities by showing spatial planning, land consolidation, marine ecology, surveying and mapping geographic information, geological landforms, natural relics and other landscape and scientific and technological innovation achievements, and continuously improve the ability of popular science services, so as to make new and greater contributions to the popularization of scientific knowledge of natural resources, the improvement of citizens' scientific literacy of natural resources, and the enhancement of public awareness of ecological civilization.
