The rupture between Podemos and Sumar has also reached Galicia and has already left its first consequence. The secretary of Purple Organization in the community, Gloria Alonso Domínguez, has resigned from her position and has taken leave as a registered member to join Yolanda Diaz's project.

Gloria Alonso communicated her decision to the state and Galician leaderships of Podemos last Monday, December 11, announcing that she was leaving her position as secretary of organization and also as a militant, and that same day she made official her integration into Sumar.

In a telephone conversation with EL MUNDO, he confirmed that it is a "meditated decision" that he has taken in view of "recent political events." "I think I identified more with the Sumar space," he explained, without wanting to go into more detail of his decision.

He did recall that in the last general elections he had already presented himself as number two of the Sumar candidacy for the Senate for the province of Pontevedra, so that this integration into the new project "was a logical step".

The resignation of Gloria Alonso has already led Podemos Galicia to make decisions to fill the position left by the former purple militant in the Galician leadership. The Secretary of Organization is now occupied by Susana López, until now Secretary of Finance.

Gloria Alonso's decision was made public by Podemos on Thursday and confirmed by the affected party. It just coincides with the day on which Sumar Galicia presents the 50 names that make up the project in the community, among which are two prominent figures from other parties, the PSOE and the BNG.

Thus, the former councillor and former socialist deputy Juan Díaz Villoslada, who in 2017 had opted to lead the Galician PSOE and days ago asked to leave the party, has joined Sumar. Also Manuel Barreiro, who until February of this year was spokesman for the BNG in the municipality of Teo in A Coruña.
