The event was hosted by the Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Dubai, Chinanews.com, and the Belt and Road International Green Development Alliance, and co-organized by Bank of China Dubai Branch.

Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China, Prince Sheikh Mohammed, Prince Sheikh Aharis, Prince Sheikh Saeed of the Emirate of Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates, Li Xuhang, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Dubai, Hu Jun, Deputy Director of the Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China, Yu Lan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China News Service and President of China News Network, Pan Xinyuan, President of Bank of China Dubai Branch, and other Chinese and Arab guests, as well as overseas Chinese, Chinese and Arab youths from Dubai, and representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises attended the event.

With the theme of "Low Carbon", the Climate Action Comic Show includes three sections: Pursuing the Current Carbon Footprint (Low-carbon Lifestyle, Coordinated Development of Economy and Low-carbon, etc.), Calling for Reducing Carbon Emissions, and Hoping for a Low-Carbon Future. Local teenagers from Dubai visited the comic book fair.


In his speech, Zhao Yingmin said that it is the responsibility of contemporary youth to promote global development and build a clean and beautiful world. Chinese and Arab youth should take active action to become a new force in global climate governance. It is also hoped that young people around the world will unite and contribute their wisdom and strength to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Prince Sheikh Mohammed said that sports and painting are both global languages, which can help people in different countries connect hearts and minds across cultural differences and language barriers. On the occasion of COP28 in Dubai, the green and low-carbon themed Friendship Football Match and Comic Exhibit are held today under the same blue sky, which is both innovative and well engaged to attract public participation.

Li Xuhang said that China-Arab friendly exchanges have a long history, and young people are the inheritors of the traditional friendship between China and Arab countries, and they are the driving force and hope for friendly cooperation between the two sides. He expressed his belief that in the magnificent future journey, the young people of China and Arab countries will be able to take up the baton of China-Arab friendship, let the concept of green and low-carbon take root in the hearts of the people, make friendly cooperation last for a long time, and contribute to the construction of a China-Arab community with a shared future for the new era.

Hu Jun said that the China-Arab Youth Football Tournament and Climate Action Comic Exhibition aims to call on people at home and abroad, especially the younger generation, to pay attention to global climate change, tell the story of China's ecological civilization construction, spread the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, and work together to promote global green and sustainable development through a variety of offline activities.

Yu Lan said that this is an important part of the COP28 series of supporting activities of China News Service, and it is also an important event held by Chinanews for the first time that Chinanews Public Welfare has gone abroad. The China-Arab Youth Football Tournament and Climate Action Comic Strip attempts to use sports as a platform and comics as a medium to integrate the two dimensions of public welfare and low carbon, so as to enhance the public's awareness of green and low-carbon, especially young people, and call on all parties to participate more extensively and deeply in global action to combat climate change.


As the referee blew the whistle, the young players of Dubai Dragon 12 Football Club and Fair Play Club, which represented Chinese teenagers and UAE teenagers respectively, competed fiercely on the green field of Dubai Football Academy.

In the end, Dubai Dragon XII Football Club won the match of the day. The guests at the scene presented the public welfare certificates of the football game and the comic exhibition to the young people who participated in the event.


According to reports, the theme of the climate action comic exhibition is "low carbon", and the collection of works has attracted widespread attention around the world. As of November 11, more than 18 entries from all over the world have been received, with the youngest author being only 300 years old and the oldest author being 3 years old. After review, a total of 72 shortlisted works were selected, and some of the outstanding works were previously exhibited in the China Corner of COP100 from November 11, and were also exhibited simultaneously on China News Network.
