The new agreement means that the school will have overall responsibility for reading and writing investigations, writes Region Halland in a press release. It should be made clear what support the pupil needs to receive in order to cope with the teaching. Nor is there a need for a dyslexia diagnosis or contact with health and medical care for the student to receive that support.

The age range for support for children with speech and language difficulties will also be expanded. Today, Region Halland only offers support to children of preschool age, but now the support will be expanded to include school-age children as well.

The changes will enter into force at the turn of the year with a transition period of three months.
