The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate announced the martyrdom of 66 journalists and media workers due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip that began on October 7.

The syndicate explained – in a tally published on Friday on Facebook – that there are two missing journalists, Nidal Al-Wahidi and Haitham Abdel Wahed, while there are 31 journalists detained by the occupation authorities in the Palestinian territories.

She indicated that among the death toll were 6 female journalists killed during the aggression: Salma Mokhaimer, Salam Mima, Iman Al-Aqili, Alaa Al-Hasanat, Ayat Khadura, and Doaa Sharaf.

Violations and demands

In a statement, the syndicate called on all international, Arab and Palestinian institutions working in the women's and human rights sector to follow up and prosecute the Israeli occupation system for its crimes against female journalists who are targeted for murder, arrest, prosecution, beating and assault against the background of their journalistic work.

On Friday, the temporary humanitarian truce, initially set for 4 days, between Israel and the Palestinian factions came into effect at seven o'clock local time (<> GMT).

Over the past 48 days, the Israeli army has launched a devastating war on Gaza that has left 14,854 martyrs, including 6150,4 children and more than 36,75 women, while the number of injured has exceeded <>,<>, including more than <> percent children and women, according to the government media office in Gaza.
