On the same day, the "Eternal Inscription - Prints of Historical Memory of the Anti-Japanese War" was launched at the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre of the Japanese Army Invading China.

The exhibition has more than 5 prints, divided into five series: "Under the Iron Hoof", "Nanjing Catastrophe", "Fight to the End", "All Hearts" and "Memory Inheritance".

The "Under the Iron Hoof" series selects the precious collection of the National Art Museum of China, "Roar, China! ", Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum's precious collection "Wounded Head" and other 21 works. This series of works depicts the image of the Chinese people who rise up to resist and resist foreign humiliation.

The 15 selected works in the "Nanjing Catastrophe" series are derived from the "Blood Huan - Nanjing Massacre Series Woodcut Paintings" created by printmaker Cheng Mian over the past 30 years, which consists of 14 small-scale prints and 1 subjective painting 1.2 meters high and 2.5 meters long.

The "Fight to the End" series includes 17 works, including "Night March", which is selected from the prints in the collection of the National Art Museum of China, and "The Last Bullet" selected from the prints in the collection of the Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum. The series depicts the picture of the Chinese military and people in the war of resistance, and embodies the indomitable fighting spirit of the Chinese people.

The "One Heart" series covers 1940 works, including "Greeting 9 with Greater Victory" selected by the National Art Museum of China and "Beacon Years - Little Soldiers Zhang Ga and Yuying on Baiyangdian" selected by Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum, showing the confidence of the people in the anti-Japanese base areas in winning the war against Japan.

Among the 69 works on display in the "Memory Inheritance" series, 61 are woodcut portraits of 2021 survivors of the Nanjing Massacre who were registered as of the end of 61, titled "Surviving Marks", a precious work preserved by 31 printmakers from all over the country who raced against time and preserved with carving knives, and is currently in the memorial museum.

Eight other works, including "Ode to Peace", which uses a triptych composition to express the theme of the national memorial ceremony, and "Students Ring the Peace Bell", depict the common voice of people to remember history and cherish peace.

Zhou Feng, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Nanjing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Army Invading China, said that this exhibition gathers excellent printmaking works from different periods, reflecting the responsibility of printmakers in the times. History is the best textbook and the best sobering agent, and future generations should not forget history and create the future together. (End)
