The international community is working to help the victims of the deadly earthquake in Morocco, which occurred on the night of Friday to Saturday. While the France provides for the sending of two million euros, public figures such as Gad Elmaleh or Ashraf Hakimi are calling for donations.

The 27 countries of the European Union have co-signed a letter in which they offer their help to Morocco, after the terrible earthquake that hit the Marrakech region on the night of Friday to Saturday. The France and its local authorities are preparing to send two million euros to the country in mourning. Occitania, Corsica and the PACA region have pledged to provide one million euros in humanitarian aid.

In addition, in terms of reinforcements, Benoît Payan, the mayor of Marseille, intends for example to send some of his firefighters to Morocco provided that the country accepts this proposal. As for the associations, they are also mobilized, as Dalila in Toulouse can testify, of the association Espérance. "We associations, at our small level, we try to help as much as we can. We are looking for paramedics, we are looking for everything in fact," she admits. "We have made appeals for donations, we have volunteers who are looking for donations and we will continue to collect, to try to see what we can do to help the population."

Ashraf Hakimi calls for blood donations

Calls for solidarity are multiplying everywhere, whether they come from political figures or public and artistic figures, such as the humorist Gad Elmaleh, born in Casablanca. He launched last night at our colleagues of BFMTV an appeal for donations. "I have the impression that we must be ready, all those who want to help, with a kitty - the biggest possible - so that at the moment when the needs are clearly expressed, we are able thanks to the Secours Populaire, to send this money and help. Today, I speak to all those who are perplexed and crying in front of their TV, who do not know what to do. I tell them that every penny counts for the people who are in this distress."

In addition, the Moroccan right-back of Paris Saint-Germain, Achraf Hakimi calls for blood donations to help those who are in a critical situation.
