North Korea announced yesterday (15th) that it conducted a major test of strategic significance at the Sohae satellite launch site in Dongchang-ri.



The Korean Central News Agency reported that an important research institute of the Academy of Defense Sciences successfully conducted a ground ejection test of a high-powered solid fuel engine with a thrust of 140 tons at the Seohae Satellite Launching Site in Dongchang-ri yesterday morning.



Secretary General Kim Jong-un observed a major test in the field.



KCNA said that in this test, all technical indicators matched the design values, reliability and safety were confirmed, and that it had a firm scientific and technological guarantee for the development of another new strategic weapon system.
