An 80-year-old man was found dead, probably by drowning, in the private swimming pool of a resident of Lauzerville, south-east of Toulouse, Sunday mid-morning.

The firefighters of the Haute-Garonne, as well as the members of the SMUR who went on the spot, could only note the death of the octogenarian on their arrival on the spot.

According to

La Dépêche

, this retiree had gone for a walk the night before but had not returned.

He could have accidentally fallen into the swimming pool of this dwelling, not far from his own place of residence.

The gendarmes moved to carry out the usual findings.

An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the octogenarian's death and an autopsy must take place.
