US President Joe Biden sent the candidacy of the country's ex-Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Samantha Power, for the post of head of the Agency for International Development (USAID) for consideration by the US Senate. The corresponding statement was published on the White House website.
"Nominated for Senate: Samantha Power is being nominated for the position of USAID leader," the statement said.
Earlier, Biden submitted to the Senate the candidacy of the former American ambassador to Russia, William Burns, for the post of head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
