Al-Jazeera correspondent in Iraq reported that 12 people were killed and about twenty others were injured in two successive suicide bombings, according to official sources, and he explained that the two explosions were caused by two people wearing explosive belts blowing themselves up in a crowded market near Tayaran Square in Baghdad, indicating that the final outcome has not yet been announced.

The Iraqi police had initially announced that at least three people had been killed and 16 others were injured in an initial outcome, as a result of a person blowing himself up in a popular market, in an attack unlike anything similar in over 18 months ago in Baghdad.

The suicide bombing occurred in the same place, which is often crowded with pedestrians in Tayaran Square, killing 31 people three years ago.

Police sources said that the death toll in the attack on a crowded market in Al-Tayaran Square in Baghdad may rise because some of the injured are in critical condition.
