Munich (dpa) - Striker Sascha Mölders has brought TSV 1860 Munich even closer to the direct promotion places in the 3rd soccer league.

With the 13th goal of the season by the former Augsburg player, the “Löwen” won the top match at the first half of the season against second place FC Ingolstadt with 1-0 (0-0).

In the table, the Munich team caught up with second place FC Ingolstadt with 33 points

The championship leader is Dynamo Dresden with 35 points in one game less.

One week after the 2-0 win in the Munich derby against FC Bayern, the team of coach Michael Köllner had the better end for themselves this time in their home Grünwalder Stadium.

After the preparatory work by winter newcomer Merveille Biankadi, the 35-year-old Mölders once again made the difference (75th minute) for the sixties in a striker-style.

“Of course I'm happy to score the winning goal,” said Mölders at Magentasport.

"A game at eye level with a better ending for us."

In a hard-fought duel with few top scoring chances, the “lions” demonstrated their defensive stability in the next Free State duel.

In the past five games they have not conceded four times, with four wins.

In the exciting final phase, the FCI could not fight back.

Returning Caiuby, once a teammate of Mölders in Augsburg, did not set a decisive accent after his late substitution.

Overall, the guests lacked the punch in attack, but coach Tomas Oral can still be satisfied with the first half of the season.
