The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said today, Monday, that the world is on the verge of a "catastrophic ethical failure" in the distribution of vaccines, and urged countries and manufacturers to share anti-Covid-19 doses more equitably around the world.

"The Anna First approach not only puts the world's poorest and most vulnerable people in danger, but it will also backfire," Ghebreyesus added at the opening of the organization's annual meeting.

"Ultimately, these actions will only prolong the epidemic," he added.
