Hanover (dpa / lni) - Lower Saxony's Minister of Culture Grant Hendrik Tonne (SPD) has pointed out the deprivation of children and young people in the Corona crisis.

"We are taking everything away from the children that make up their lives: hobbies, meeting friends, going to events, going to the cinema, celebrating together," Tonne told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung (Monday).

"And now we also had to massively restrict school attendance - the last remaining opportunity to have contact with people of the same age - and reduce it to almost zero".

This situation cannot be continued indefinitely.

Tonne does not believe that the schools will be completely reopened anytime soon.

"Nobody is assuming that we will start our school day halfway normally again in February," he said.

Ton also spoke about personal hostility.

First and foremost, people reported who were disappointed and angry.

“And sometimes things get really down to business and even below the belt.

There is feedback that is really below all cannon and extremely low level, ”he said.

He couldn't say that left him indifferent.

Even if he understands the worries and fears of parents: "I would like some people to think a little longer about one or the other sentence that they address to my house or to my person before sending it."
