An Egyptian court rules for confiscating funds from 89 Brotherhood leaders

Today, Sunday, the Urgent Matters Court in Egypt decided to seize the funds of 89 leaders and members of the Brotherhood and transfer them to the state treasury.

The Committee for the Conservation of Organization Funds had filed a lawsuit with the Urgent Matters Court demanding that it be allowed to dispose of the funds of 89 Brotherhood leaders and transfer them to the Egyptian state treasury.

The lawsuit included: "The heirs of Muhammad Morsi, Muhammad Badi, Khairat Al-Shater, Safwat Hijazi, Al-Beltagy, Mohsen Radhi, Asad Al-Sheikha, Abdel-Rahman Al-Barr, and Ayman Hodhod."

The Court of Urgent Matters ruled last year to seize the funds of 285 members of the Brotherhood organization and 3 entities affiliated with the organization, and prevent them from disposing of their real estate, movable and liquid funds, stocks and bonds registered in their names with the Egyptian Stock Exchange, and all bank accounts, deposits, safes, bonds and treasury bills registered in their names by any party. Of the banks subject to the supervision of the Central Bank of Egypt or their accounts in the mail.
