January 18, 2021 There is the mayor of Rosarno, Giuseppe Idà, among those arrested in the "Faust" carabinieri operation.
The operation involved the Pisano clan of the 'Ndrangheta which, according to investigations coordinated by the Reggio Calabria prosecutor Giovanni Bombardieri and the adjunct Gaetano Paci, allegedly supported Idà, elected mayor in 2016.
This morning, at the first light of dawn, in Rosarno, Polistena and Anoia, as well as in the provinces of Messina, Vibo Valentia, Salerno, Matera, Brindisi, Taranto, Alessandria and Pavia, the Carabinieri of the provincial command of Reggio Calabria, at the conclusion of investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office - District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Reggio Calabria, as part of the operation called 'Faust', carried out a precautionary custody order, issued by the investigating judge of the chief town court - GIP section - against 49 persons held responsible - in particular - for mafia-type associations, political electoral exchange - mafia, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, attempted murder, usury and non-compliance with the penalty.
