Islamic organizations in Greece condemned the targeting of Archbishop Ironemos in the country towards Islam and Muslims, when he described Islam as not a religion, and invited him to apologize.

The Advisory Board of the Muslim Minority in Western Thrace - through its account on social media - condemned Ernemus for what he said against Islam and Muslims.

The Commission called on the Archbishop to replace the anti-Islamic rhetoric with the language of peace and unity, and said, "In these difficult circumstances that we are going through, we hope to replace the language hostile to Islam with the language of peace and unity."

The Alumni Association of Imams and Rhetoric Schools in Western Thrace called on the Archbishop to make an apology to Muslims and humanity.

His words were described as "aggressive" and not appropriate for the religious position that he occupies, and they are not even issued by a normal person.

Earlier, Jerome said - speaking to OPEN TV about the Greek War of Independence - “Islam is not a religion,” and “Muslims always stand with the war.”

He added, "Islam ... is not a religion, but a political party, a political ambition."

He added that the followers of Islam "are people of war, and people of expansion, this is the peculiarity of Islam, and the teachings of Muhammad call for this," according to his claim.
