"At 13.00 Moscow time on Saturday, a message was received that in the Elbrus region on the slope of Mount Cheget (height 2300 meters), an extreme skier born in 1970 from the Moscow region left the marked track into the forbidden zone and provoked an avalanche, as a result of which he fell under it," - quoted by RIA Novosti EMERCOM.

The rescuers of the chairlift of the Cheget ski complex who arrived at the scene found a skier with no signs of life. 

Rescuers lowered the body down and handed over to the investigative and operational group of law enforcement agencies.

On the evening of January 8, an avalanche came down near the Otdelnaya Mountain ski complex near Norilsk, and five houses were covered with snow.

As a result of the emergency, three people died.
