Rostock (dpa / mv) - A 73-year-old man was life-threateningly injured in an apartment fire in the Rostock district of Lütten Klein.

The fire broke out on Saturday morning for an initially unknown cause on the ninth floor of a residential building, as a police spokesman reported.

During the fire, the 73-year-old was rescued from his apartment and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The fire was extinguished after about two hours.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continued.
